Illuminating the intersections of art and science

Kay Young ’84, M.D.’90 used her experience as both a professional painter and medical doctor to explore intersections of art and science and how these intersections can impact human experiences.

Young donated to Duke Arts in support of creative student and faculty arts projects that seriously engage scientific ideas. Through this gift, she has funded projects such as “Art of the Scientist,” an exhibit that explained complex scientific ideas and principles through art.
