Nasher Sculpture Garden Bursts to Life with Opening Performance

Brooklyn-based, Israeli-born artist Naama Tsabar opened Nasher Museum of Art’s Sculpture Garden in style in September 2019, staging an aurally and visually immersive performance of her “Composition 21.” More than 1,200 visitors experienced the outdoor art, which was performed by Tsabar and 21 local musicians who identify as women and/or gender nonconforming.

Tsabar’s original work, commissioned for the occasion, is made possible in part by Ellen Cassilly, Frank Konhaus and the Cassilhaus Artist-in-Residence Program, and the Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger Family Fund for Exhibitions.
